Upcoming Short Course at EUCAP 2012 in Prague



The ELEDIA Research Center announces an upcoming Short Course on "Global optimization techniques based on evolutionary strategies – foundations and applications to electromagnetics" which will be held at the 2012 European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EUCAP 2012) in Prague (Czech Republic) on March 25, 2012. Course Description

This course will focus on: 
  1. Introduction to Evolutionary Algorithms (EAs),
  2. Key theorems on global optimization and mathematical foundations of EAs,
  3. Competitive EAs (Genetic Algorithms, Differential Evolution),
  1. Cooperative EAs (Particle Swarm, Ant Colony Optimizer),
  2. Numerical recipes and rules-of-thumb,
  3. Applications to electromagnetics (antenna synthesis, inversion problems, microwave circuit synthesis, etc..)
The course is dedicated to Researchers , Scientists, and Engineers who are willing to learn about the basics of global optimizers based on EAs, how they work, why they work, and a review of EAs' application to electromagnetics with a main emphasis on antenna synthesis and inversion problems.
