He serves as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation and as a reviewer for different international journals including IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, IEEE Journal on Multiscale and Multiphysics Computational Techniques, and IET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation. His research activities are mainly concerned with inverse scattering, GPR microwave imaging techniques, antenna synthesis, and computational electromagnetics with focus on System-by-Design methodologies integrating optimization techniques and Learning-by- Examples methods for real-world applications. Dr. Vellucci is currently a member of the Virtual Institute for Artificial Electromagnetic Materials and Metamaterials (METAMORPHOSE VI, the International Metamaterials Society), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a PostDoc at the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science (DISI) at the University of Trento, and a Research Fellow of the ELEDIA Research Center. He was a recipient of the IEEE AP-S Award of the Central-Southern Italy Chapter in 2019, the Outstanding Reviewers Award from the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation in 2018 and 2019, and the Leonardo-Finmeccanica Innovation Award for “Young Students”, in 2015. He has been serving as a technical reviewer of many high-level international journals related to electromagnetic field theory and metamaterial.
